Again, after Jesus had fed the five thousand He told the twelve to dismiss the multitude, but Jesus went to the mountain for solitude. The historian says, ”When the evening was come, He was there alone.” (Matthew 14:13) Meditation! Prayer!
— David O. Mckay
After feeding the five thousand, Jesus left the people and His apostles and went away to be alone. In the JST version of the Bible in Matthew, Jesus didn’t just fast for forty days but he also communed with God for that time. We can see as well in Mark 1:35, His disciples once found Christ in the early morning, in a solitary place, to pray and be with Heavenly Father. We can see from Christ’s example that it is very important to take time to be alone with Heavenly Father.
