A Righteous Mother and Two Partners in Crime.
When I was 16 years old the Saylors family moved into our neighborhood. I met Marsha first and she introduced me to Billy. Billy and I became great friends. Since that day, Marsha was a mother to me.
On August 19 of 2021, we celebrated the exemplary life of Marsha Saylors. She touched so many lives, serving and caring. She loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She had the gift of teaching the Gospel. Billy’s dad was also like a father to me and a mentor and he and Marsha were in amazing force for so much good. Marsha has been the central figure in a very large extended family and she the glue that kept everything together.
Volumes could be written about her. But I can personally say that she had a significant impact on my life from my teenage years onward. I was in her home, at times more than my own. I would even sleep on the floor next to Billy’s bed and stay for days. We had so many great adventures. I wore out my welcome so many times but she was patient, kind and forgiving. And at times as teenage boys do, we got into some trouble and Marsha was always there giving us that gentle course correction.
Fast forward to August 19, in the last eight months or so as I’ve born some heavy burdens and challenges in my life, I was so blessed to be in Marsha’s home almost on a weekly basis, where she gave me unconditional love and support, for which I will forever be grateful. She was and is a ministering angel.
To the Saylors, the Ogden’s, and the whole extended family… I grieve with you at the tremendous difficulty of this mortal separation. My heart is with you. My prayers are on your behalf. I am so grateful for the knowledge of our loving Heavenly Father’s Plan of Salvation and Plan of Happiness. I am so grateful for Christ’s suffering and victory over sin and death. He made it possible for us to live again with Him and our families forever. I am so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Marsha is a true disciple of the Savior and is such a great example for me.
I love you Marsha. You are dearly missed. I imagine that the reunions on the other side with your loved ones must be amazing. Till we meet again.
