Welcome guys to this next episode of the third season. This is Brittney’s story on how she was able to come to a knowledge of the gospel. Her Instagram is @brittney_filips. Enjoy the story!

Hi, my name is Brittney and I was baptized when I was 15. I am the only current member in my family. I met a girl in high school and we quickly became best friends. I asked if I could go to church with her one week and soon I found myself going every Sunday. After about six months, my best friend moved away and I stopped going to church.

One Sunday I had been having a really hard time and I remembered the joy I felt when I went to church, so I came back. It was fast and testimony meeting, and as I listened to everyone bearing their testimonies, I realized that I also had a testimony, however small it was at the time. I knew in that moment that the church was true and I could not deny it. I felt the spirit fill my heart and I felt so at peace.

After that day, I started taking lessons from the sister missionaires. They were so loving and supportive and we are still good friends. Everything they taught me felt so familiar, like it was things I already knew but just needed to be reminded of.

In September of 2012, I was baptized and it was the best decision of my life. It was very hard on my family and it definitely created some tension. Fortunately, now things are much better and my family can see that the gospel is a positive influence. Even though it took a little while for me to get baptized, that was only the beginning of my conversion story. I truly became converted as I applied the principles I had learned and as I learned about the Atonement.

I am so grateful for my Savior and I know that He has suffered the pains and sins of every one of us. His love for us is infinite, eternal, and all encompassing. I am so grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I pray that one day my family can feel of this joy as well.

I’m still continuing on my journey of becoming converted, as we all are, and I cannot wait to see how my story plays out. I love my Savior and I love His church. I’m so blessed to have found the true gospel of Jesus Christ in my youth, for it has helped me so much in the decisions I have made. I leave this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”
