This quote is a favorite of mine from the movie, Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration.
“Some small creature made that shell,… layer by layer until they finally outgrew it. Maybe God intends for us to outgrow ourselves too.”
What a great analogy to apply a snail and his shell, to us as God’s children. We live in this world and we have our worldly or carnal bodies, desires, and passions. As we progress, we too must outgrow these carnal things and be born of and live by the Spirit, thus we becoming new creatures, with new bodies, desires, and passions that are centered on Christ and filled with His Spirit, light, and glory.
Let us put forth the necessary effort and faith to undergo this great change through the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.
