What an interesting and true concept. What does the rainbow represent? A few examples would be, reward from hardwork, joy over sadness, healing over sickness, harvest after a long hard summer, and victory over trials.
Two things are important, first, we would never receive the reward if it wasn’t for the hardwork, or the joy if it wasn’t for the sadness, healing without sickness, joy without sadness, harvest without planting and victory without trials.
I love Paul and we can learn so much from him.
2 Corinthians 12:8-10
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/2-cor/12?lang=eng
Paul gloried in the “rain” because he knew that the rainbow or reward was worth all the rain.
The second thing which is related to the first and that is to enjoy the journey.
Together let’s thank God for the rain while maintaining faith in the rainbow and just enjoy the journey as we go.
