Moroni describes the process whereby we may lay hold upon every good thing:
25. Wherefore, by the ministering of angels, and by every word which proceeded forth out of the mouth of God, men began to exercise faith in Christ; and thus by faith, they did lay hold upon every good thing; and thus it was until the coming of Christ.
26. And after that he came men also were saved by faith in his name; and by faith, they become the sons of God. And as surely as Christ liveth he spake these words unto our fathers, saying: Whatsoever thing ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is good, in faith believing that ye shall receive, behold, it shall be done unto you. –Moroni 7: 25-26
These verses are just amazing. We need to develop this faith and literally draw down the powers of heaven to bless us and our families. Imagine what we can become with this type of faith.
“Wherefore, by the ministering of angels, and by every word which proceeded forth out of the mouth of God, men began to exercise faith in Christ” these words have taken on new meaning to me since I have been learning more about listening to and obeying the promptings of the Spirit to our minds through our thoughts. As we hear and obey the whisperings of the Spirit we begin to exercise faith and as we learn to be more and more diligent, and in obeying, we lay hold upon even greater and greater faith. How simple the Lord has made our journey back to him if we will but listen and obey.
