In the church, one of the most important ordinances is being sealed in marriage. This sealing is a sacred covenant between a husband and wife that is performed in a temple. This sealing binds couples together not just for this life, but for eternity.
However, not all couples are able to be sealed during their lifetimes. Sometimes, it may be due to circumstances beyond their control, such as death or divorce. In these cases, the church teaches that these individuals can still be sealed, but they must wait until the millennium or after this life to do so.
During the millennium, those who did not have the opportunity to be sealed during their lives will have the opportunity to do so. This will allow them to be united with their loved ones for eternity, and fulfill the promise made by Jesus Christ that families can be together forever.
While waiting until the millennium to be sealed may seem like a long time, it is important to remember that in the grand scheme of things, our mortal lives are just a small part of our eternal existence. The promise of being sealed allows us to look beyond this life and focus on the eternities.
In the meantime, those who are unable to be sealed in this life can still live their lives and strive to be worthy of this blessing. They can also seek comfort in knowing that all will be given the choice of finding and having an eternal companion.
