Welcome back! My name is Spencer Charles aka Latterdayhelp and I will be sharing this week some things I enjoyed about Come Follow Me. Let’s start!
Suggestion: when using The Come Follow Me book, use this page for my commentary and overview. You will see a quote from the Come Follow Me and my comments on it. First, look at the quote below and when it appears in the book, read my commentary below the quote. Repeat until you finish the Come Follow Me for this week. Enjoy!!!
The book of Numbers describes some of what happened during those 40 years, including lessons the children of Israel needed to learn before entering the promised land.
Sometimes we may also have go through ‘40 years in the desert’ so God can teach us what we need to know before moving forward.
However, saying that everyone can be a prophet doesn’t mean they all can lead God’s people the way Moses did. The incident recorded in Numbers 12 makes this clear.
We all can have God to talk to us in different ways but that doesn’t literally make everyone a prophet. Prophets are called of God to lead His church.
Notice how Balak tried to persuade Balaam (see Numbers 22:5–7, 15–17), and think about temptations you face to go against God’s will.
In life we will all be tempted to not keep God’s commandments. It is important to identify those temptations in our lives so we can better improve and become better.
What do we learn about faith from the two different reports in these verses? How can we be more like Caleb and Joshua?
Really good questions right here.
After reading Numbers 21:4–9, along with 1 Nephi 17:40–41; Alma 33:18–22; and Helaman 8:13–15, your family could make a serpent out of paper or clay and write on it or on paper some simple things you can do to “look upon the Son of God with faith” (Helaman 8:15).
Oohh yes! I love this idea so much! I encourage you to do this!!!
