“Having the office tower provides a source of revenue to pay for the meetinghouse,” Bishop Budge said. “We are trying to be wise stewards of these sacred resources that the Lord has blessed us with.”
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has constructed an unusual meetinghouse in Salt Lake City to serve the city’s growing population. This is the third tallest building downtown Salt Lake City. It is four stories tall and stands at the base of a new 25-story office tower.
The construction for the building started in early 2019 and has a steeple next to the meetinghouse. This building will help The Church keep growing in downtown SLC where the building will house six church wards. Two of these will be single adult wards. The building will also include a classroom and a roof terrace.
