In these last days, the hate of the world towards the followers of Jesus Christ will increase. The world has always hated Christ ever since He was born. Jesus Christ was“…arrested and condemned on spurious charges, convicted to satisfy a mob, and sentenced to die on Calvary’s cross. He gave His life to atone for the sins of all mankind.”
— The Living Christ: A Proclamation To The World.
If Jesus Christ, the most perfect person on earth was persecuted and killed for doing good, speaking the truth and keeping the commandments of Heavenly Father, don’t think that you will escape the persecution He went through! The world hates what is right. The world only wants to remain in sin to stay in temporary pleasure until they will be utterly destroyed because of their wickedness. The world would rather have temporary pleasure now and never ending suffering later! What a terrible way to live!
Because the world is of Satan and the world wants to remain in darkness, the world will do everything they can to destroy the light. Jesus Christ is the light of the world and His light dwells in His followers. As you can see, there is a choice to make. You can either join the world in temporary pleasure and eternal suffering or you can join Christ and suffer temporary from the world and have eternal joy.
“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.”
“Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”
—Matthew 5:10-12
So we now know persecution is already happening and it will only increase until Jesus Christ returns to the earth. If we look at Matthew 5:10-12, those verses above, we can receive some comfort from what Jesus Christ said. Those that are persecuted for righteousness and His sake will be blessed, they will receive the kingdom of Heaven, and rejoice!
Rejoice?! Why in the world would someone rejoice for being persecuted for righteousness? Well… look at all of the blessings you will receive. In the end the persecution is worth it because your reward will be greater than your mortal mind can imagine! Therefore rejoice! Your suffering will be for a small moment and your reward will last forever and it will be greater than you can imagine!
However it it is important to remember this one thing, love your enemies and do good to them which hate you and do evil unto you. If you do this your reward in Christ will be even more valuable! Christ said to love your enemies so if you follow Christ, you better keep this commandment!
