Suggestion: when using The Come Follow Me book, use this page for my commentary and overview. You will see a quote from the Come Follow Me and my comments below it. First, look at the quote below and when it appears in the book, read my commentary below the quote. Repeat until you finish the Come Follow Me for this week. Enjoy!!!
But Jacob knew that when he needed a blessing, he could seek the Lord, even in the wilderness
Whenever we are in need of help from God, we cal always seek Him and ask Him for help.
It is also important to remember that even though God hears us, in His wisdom He doesn’t always give us exactly what we ask for.
God knows what’s best for us and because of that He will not always give us exactly what we asked for. We must trust Him and accept what he gives us, even if we didn’t ask for it.
You could use a ladder (or a picture of one) to talk about how our covenants are like a ladder. What covenants have we made, and how do they bring us closer to God?
I live this idea! When I visualize things or see them, it is easier for me to understand and get more involved in things.
If Jacob and Esau could talk to us today, what might they say to help us when there is contention in our family?
If you do have any contention in your family, this is a good question to ponder about. I would even say to ask God for inspiration to know how to answer this question.
