Hello and welcome to this weeks Come Follow Me Overview! My name is Spencer Charles also known as Latterdayhelp and I will be sharing this week what I liked about Come Follow Me this week. Let’s Begin!

Suggestion: when using The Come Follow Me book, use this page for my commentary and overview. You will see a quote from the Come Follow Me and my comments below it. First, look at the quote below and when it appears in the book, read my commentary below the quote. Repeat until you finish the Come Follow Me for this week. Enjoy!!!

“In the 200 years since Joseph Smith’s First Vision, God has continued to give “revelation upon revelation, knowledge upon knowledge” to the leaders of His Church (Doctrine and Covenants 42:61). In some cases, that revelation directed Church leaders to make changes to the policies and practices of the Church, “according as the Lord will, suiting his mercies according to the conditions of the children of men” (Doctrine and Covenants 46:15).”

Besides Jospeh Smith receiving revelation from the church, our now current prophet receives the same! You can see some of the revelation Russell M. Nelson received for the church like giving us this Come Follow Me Program and changing 3 hour church to 2 hour church!

“But there are also things that don’t change—foundational, eternal truths.”

This is true! All truth will never change. God’s commandments will never change.

“What other examples of continuing revelation to the Lord’s prophet can you think of? How have these revelations affected your life? How have they advanced the work of Heavenly Father’s kingdom?”

I like these questions. Think about what other changes our prophet has made to the church and how it has helped the church and it’s members.

“As you read Official Declaration 2, ponder how you have learned to trust in the Lord even when you don’t have a perfect understanding.”

When God gives us new commandments and things from His prophets and apostles, pray and think about what they have said. Ask God if what they are saying is true and if it is from Him. We need to trust God even when we don’t completely understand why He has commanded us to do things.
