Welcome to this weeks Come Follow Me Overview! My name is Spencer Charles also known as Latterdayhelp and I will be sharing this week what I liked about D&C 137-138. Let’s Go!

Suggestion: when using The Come Follow Me book, use this page for my commentary and overview. You will see a quote from the Come Follow Me and my comments below it. First, look at the quote below and when it appears in the book, read my commentary below the quote. Repeat until you finish the Come Follow Me for this week. Enjoy!!!

“Many questions that people have about life after death are answered in these revelations. Section 137 casts some initial light on such questions, and section 138 opens the curtains even wider. Together, they testify of “the great and wonderful love made manifest by the Father and the Son” (Doctrine and Covenants 138:3).”

I am glad that the Come Follow Me program touched on this. It is a gift to know what happens to us and others when we pass from this life to the next. I hope you will share this knowledge with those that are in need of it. When others pass, you may morn for a little while but overall rejoice! They are no longer suffering and having to endure life in this corrupt and wicked world. You may be sad for a little while but you will see them again and they are in a better place!

“President Russell M. Nelson taught, “Our message to the world is simple and sincere: we invite all of God’s children on both sides of the veil to come unto their Savior, receive the blessings of the holy temple, have enduring joy, and qualify for eternal life”

No matter where you are in God’s plan, you can still progress beyond this life. You can still receive temple ordinances and receive eternal life! All of this is possible by doing temple work.

“Doctrine and Covenants 137:1–5.Invite your family to draw what they think the celestial kingdom might look like based on these verses. What do you find in these verses that helps you look forward to living there? What are we doing now to prepare to live in the celestial kingdom with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ?”

I love this idea! I would add to probably do this alone in a quiet area and to let the spirit guide. Who knows? Maybe God will reveal what part of His kingdom looks like to you!
