“For only an hour of travel, we will be able to visit the temple with the whole family,” Chastity Onate of the Canaga Philippines Stake, said with excitement in this video:

During the October 2021 General Conference, President Russell M. Nelson announced 13 new temples. One of the new temples is going to be built in the Philippines! When local members of Christ’s church heard the news, they couldn’t hold in their excitement!

Charlene Lagrimes, from the Catarman Philippines Stake, said she is excited to work with others to “double our efforts to help our ancestors and to help families become eternal.”

“With all of the challenges we face, the Lord gives us the temple. And the temple gives us hope,” Bryan Villegas, a local member of the Tolosa Philippines Stake said in the video.

This temple that will be built in the Philippines is the eighth temple. There are two dedicated temples in Manila and there are currently three being constructed elsewhere. The others have been planned but not yet being constructed. This eighth temple when built will help further the work of the Lord and will help members that are not close to the other planned or functioning temples.
