“Let us once and for all establish our residence in Zion, and give up the summer cottage in Babylon.”
— Neal A. Maxwell
Years ago, I spent a couple days in Las Vegas. We went to shows, wandered the strip and ate so much great food! On the last full day, we went to the temple. The contract was stark. The bright lights, noise, hustle, and bustle of the world, and the calm, peace, and tranquility of the house of the Lord. After that time in the temple, we had no desire to explore or see anything that the Las Vegas Strip had to offer.
Let’s make sure we’re focused on things that matter, and inviting the calming influence of the Holy Spirit into our lives. This includes avoiding the distractions of the world.
