Welcome my friends! My name is Spencer Charles also known as Latterdayhelp and I will be sharing this week what I liked about Come Follow Me this week. Let’s start.

Suggestion: when using The Come Follow Me book, use this page for my commentary and overview. You will see a quote from the Come Follow Me and my comments on it. First, look at the quote and when it appears in the book, read my commentary below the quote. Repeat until you finish the Come Follow Me for this week. Enjoy!!!

“The Saints learned that doing God’s work doesn’t mean you never fall; it means you “rise again.” And though you’ll have to give up some things, those sacrifices will be sacred to God, even “more sacred … than [your] increase” (Doctrine and Covenants 117:13).”

When we do God’s work, we fail fall. However that doesn’t mean you won’t rise again. You can keep going and pressing forward or you can give up. When we do God’s work, sometimes we have to give up things that are important to us. If we give up these things, you will be extremely blessed!

“Despite the hardships the Saints were facing in 1838, the Lord still had high expectations for them. Look for words in Doctrine and Covenants 115:5–6 that emphasize the role the Lord wants His Church and its members to fulfill in the world. For example, what do you feel you should do to “arise and shine forth”? (verse 5). What spiritual storms do you notice around you, and how do we find “refuge” through gathering? (verse 6).”

I like these questions. The Lord will still have high expectations for us even if we have many hardships. We need to recognize the spiritual storms around us and find out how we can receive refuge from them.

“Consider how the Lord’s words in verses 12–15 might apply to the things the Lord has asked of you.”

Yes, please do this!!!

“Doctrine and Covenants 117:1–11.Your family could compare a “drop” with something more “weighty” (verse 8), like a jug of water. This could lead to a discussion about less important things in our lives that might prevent us from receiving God’s abundant blessings”

I would recommend doing this. Visual aids always help me understand things better.
