In the past month, the SLC Temple has started an important and major seismic strengthening process which is called “jack and bore.” These are steel pipes that are put blow the existing foundation of the building. The Salt Lake Temple renovation project began around the end of December 2019. This project will unfortunately take four years to finish!

The first steel pipe was inserted around the end of August of this year. 92 pipes will support the foundation of this temple. The pipes are 40 feet long and about 4 feet in diameter!
