“I don’t know why there’s been so much contention with marginalized groups in the church, but I do know one thing, it needs to STOP!”

— Alvin F. Meredith 3

One of the most powerful statements I heard at a recent leadership conference was this one, and it’s simply that we need to stop treating one another poorly, simply because we are different from one another! The first step to being better is to stop throwing stones; the second, is to start catching them! When anyone, and I mean anyone, is mistreated for being different, we need to step up and defend them and their situation. That doesn’t mean we have to agree with them, but we can certainly show our brothers and sisters enough respect to give them space to be their best selves, without worrying about judgment or mistreatment from others!
