D&C 6:36 Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.

“If you desire, you shall be the means of doing much good in this generation.” (D&C 6:8) The Lord is not requiring anything difficult, He doesn’t say If you are perfect, you will do great things. No! If you simply desire, then I will help you accomplish “much good.” It’s rather simple really, we must be “faithful and diligent,” and “seek to bring forth and establish Zion.” Through that desire the Lord will strengthen us, so that we can “hold out faithful to the end.” (D&C 6:13)

This desire will be fortified as we turn to our scriptures daily, “I am God: give heed unto my word, which is quick and powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword.” (D&C 6:2) Couple this with fervent prayer and “thou shalt know the mysteries which are great and marvelous.” (D&C 6:11) “I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, by the a holy Ghost.” (D&C 8:2) That is the “spirit of revelation” which is available to you when you “Ask that you may know.” (D&C 8:3, 11) This is how we learn by the Spirit of Truth.” (D&C 6:15) “So surely shall you receive a knowledge of whatsoever thing you shall ask believing that you shall receive a knowledge.” (D&C 8:1)

It is important to understand the sacred nature of these things, “Trifle not with sacred things.” “There is no gift greater than the gift of salvation.” “He who hath eternal life is rich.” (D&C 6:12, 13, 7) As we seek to bring others to the Lord, so that they can rest in the peace of His salvation, the Lord will go with us and help us. “There will I be in the midst of them—even so am I in the midst of you.” (D&C 6:32) “Whatsoever ye sow, that shall ye also reap.” (D&C 6:33) Let earth and he’ll combine against you, for if ye are built upon my rock, they cannot prevail.” (D&C 6:34)

The greatest part of this is his peace that accompanies those that are seeking the Lord in their lives. However, we have to accept the peace and be really to let go of the constant chattering of the world and put our trust in God. “Did I not speak peace to your mind?” “What greater witness can you have than from God?” “I am the light that shineth in darkness.” “I will encircle thee in the arms of my love.” (D&C 6:23, 21, 20)

“Be of good cheer, and do not fear.” (D&C 68:6)

“Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.” (D&C 6:36)

“Fear not, little flock.” I love the tenderness of “little flock.” In this Church we may be few in number by the way the world counts influence, but when we open our spiritual eyes, “they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” Our loving Shepherd, Jesus Christ, then continues, “Let earth and hell combine against you, for if ye are built upon my rock, they cannot prevail.” (Ronald A, Rasband 2018, D&C 6:34, 2 Kings 6:16, D&C 6:34)
