Mosiah 16:9 He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless…
How is it possible to be an ENDLESS LIGHT in a darkening world? The answer comes from the ultimate endless light, “redemption cometh through Christ the Lord, who is the very Eternal Father.” (Mosiah 16:15) We have a Savior who “ascended into heaven, having the bowels of mercy; being filled with compassion towards the children of men; standing betwixt them and justice; having broken the bands of death, taken upon himself their iniquity and their transgressions, having redeemed them, and satisfied the demands of justice.” (Mosiah 15:9) He is our refuge from the darkness, as well as our example of shining bright though the darkest moments, “none shall deliver them, except it be the Lord the Almighty God.” (Mosiah 11:23) Through that redemption we can find the courage and strength to turn our will over to the will of the Father, with perfect trust in His love for us and all mankind. “The will of the Son being swallowed up in the will of the Father.” (Mosiah 15:7) As we do this we will find inner peace, which can’t be bought but is only found at “feet of him that bringeth good tidings; that publisheth peace.” (Mosiah 12:21) This inner peace is what allows us to “boldly” let our light endlessly shine. (Mosiah 12:19)
Mosiah 16:8 But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ.
The Lord has given us prophets to help direct us through the darkness. ALL prophets are called to bring the light of Christ to the world, “these are they who have published peace, who have brought good tidings of good, who have published salvation; and said unto Zion: Thy God reigneth!” (Mosiah 15:14) A prophet of God is one that we can trust to lead us in the will of the Lord, for his purpose is to bring about the purpose of our Heavenly Father—the way to eternal life—the ultimate homecoming. “Whosoever has heard the words of the prophets, yea, all the holy prophets who have prophesied concerning the coming of the Lord—I say unto you, that all those who have hearkened unto their words, and believed that the Lord would redeem his people, and have looked forward to that day for a remission of their sins, I say unto you, that these are his seed, or they are the heirs of the kingdom of God.” (Mosiah 15:11)
Mosiah 15:22And now, the resurrection of all the prophets, and all those that have believed in their words, or all those that have kept the commandments of God, shall come forth in the first resurrection; therefore, they are the first resurrection. 23 They are raised to dwell with God who has redeemed them; thus they have eternal life through Christ, who has broken the bands of death.
Salivation is for everyone! Redemption is for everyone! Christ came that we ALL could return home. “The time shall come that the salvation of the Lord shall be declared to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.” (Mosiah 15:28) The Lord will not take back the precious gift of agency, we must choose to follow him, and choose to accept the redeeming power of His love. “The Lord redeemeth none such that rebel against him and die in their sins.” “For he cannot deny justice when it has its claim.” (Mosiah 15:26,27) If we choose to deny the gift of redemption and “willfully rebelled against God,” then we will “remaineth in his fallen state and the devil has all power over him. (Mosiah 15:26, 16:5) Fear not, the choice to follow leads to “endless life and happiness,” where “joy” is found. (Mosiah 16:11, 18:11)
Mosiah 14:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
