When Joseph Smith went to ask the Lord which church was true, he was overcome by darkness. His tongue was bound so that he couldn’t speak. Joseph explained, “It seemed to me for a time as if I were doomed to sudden destruction.”
Like Joseph, we may feel encircled by pain sometimes. It may seem as if there is no escape, like we’re in an endless dark tunnel. However, every single one of our trials will only last “for a time.” Our trials may last minutes or they may last the entirety of your life, but no matter what, the light will come even. As long as we have faith and keep this knowledge with us, we will be able to grow stronger from those trials. Only through the dark tunnels, we can be find the light that awaits us.
