3 Nephi 4:10 I gathered you as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and have nourished you.
As we all gather in our homes for the quarantine of COVID-19, with no sporting events to attend or to watch, we are able to watch General Conference without distraction. The Lord has told us through His prophet Russell M. Nelson that it will not only be “memorable but unforgettable.” He has given us instructions on how to prepare so that our minds will be open to the revelation given, our ears will hear the direction spoken, and our hearts will be soft and moldable. It’s absolutely glorious to all be gathered in the arms of the Savior and instructed (nourished), so that we will be strong enough to move the work of the Lord forward even with heavy opposition that may come.
“Meanwhile, here and now, we live in a time of turmoil. Earthquakes and tsunamis wreak devastation, governments collapse, economic stresses are severe, the family is under attack, and divorce rates are rising. We have great cause for concern. But we do not need to let our fears displace our faith. We can combat those fears by strengthening our faith.”
“Why do we need such resilient faith? Because difficult days are ahead. Rarely in the future will it be easy or popular to be a faithful Latter-day Saint. Each of us will be tested. The Apostle Paul warned that in the latter days, those who diligently follow the Lord “shall suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12). That very persecution can either crush you into silent weakness or motivate you to be more exemplary and courageous in your daily lives.”(The Future is the Church: Preparing the Earth for the Savior’s Second Coming by Russell M. Nelson)
