Colossians 1:12–13 – Christmas = Christ & Christ = Deliverance and salvation

As I was pondering about what should be my scripture to ponderize and to talk about for Christmas, I kept coming back to the question, “what does Christmas really mean to me?”. Christmas is a time that fills my soul with absolute gratitude for the life and mission of Jesus Christ. That is what I wanted to find, a scripture that glorifies the mission of Christ as the one and only name whereby salvation comes unto the children of men, and more specifically to me and my family. As I started to study the Come, Follow Me chapter for the week of Christmas, I found this amazing gem. It was literally music to my soul! Oh, how much I love my Father in Heaven for sending us His precious son, and oh how much I love His son, for His power of deliverance and of salvation!

Colossians 1:12–14
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins;

Oh my goodness, these verses are so good! They make me so happy. I can just see Paul writing these words with tears and a full heart. Through the power of Christ, he was caught up to the third heaven and no doubt saw, interacted with, and basked in the glory of those saints in light. He must have felt and comprehended their love and gratitude for Christ who delivered them from the power of darkness and gave unto them such majestic light and glory.

Let that sink deep in your hearts. Christ can literally deliver you from the power of darkness, open the door for you to come unto Him and the Father, and to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in light; if you will but come unto Him with all your heart, might, mind, and strength. Words fail me in expressing my love and gratitude for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

This Christmas season how will you show your love and gratitude for Christ?
