Look unto me in every thought, doubt not; fear not. Doctrine and Covenants 6:36
I simply love this scripture. We need to always remember that we need to look unto Christ in every thought. I went to our stake priesthood meeting today, and my stake president talked about things that obscure our view. He showed several pictures of when people’s view had been obscured, including a picture of when he went to the conference center and one of the cameras was literally blocking his view of the pulpit and all of the apostles as they sat in their chairs. He then explained how when something is obscuring our vision, we must take active action to move to where we can have a clear vision again.
This went so well with this scripture, because looking unto Christ takes active action. Sometimes when our vision is obscured, we may not feel like looking unto Christ. Let us not be like the Israelites who would not look up unto the brass serpent Moses caused to be lifted up. Instead, let’s act as needed, whatever that action may be, so that we can again look unto Christ. This is where the last part of this verse also comes in the play, “doubt not; fear not.” He is mighty to save. The feelings of doubt and fear all come from the dark side. When we put full and complete trust and faith in Him, He can and will transform even the hardest heart or most stubborn soul. Let us no longer hold to sin, but let us hold to and look unto Christ in every thought!!!
