Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
There has never been a time in the history of mankind when BOLDNESS was more necessary. To come BOLDLY to the throne of Christ means to come with courage and confidence, it’s to have a strong, vivid, and clear vision of what is truth, and righteousness. (Definition from oxford) How are we to come boldly when the “mist of darkness” has never been so thick and blinding as it is in our day?
First, we must remember who we are. Just like Moses, Satan is constantly at our shoulder whispering that we are “sons of man”, but we know that we are much more, because we are “beloved daughters and sons of God.” When we realize this and allow it to take root in our remembrance, our spirit is will awaken with a great vigor to help bring back to our memory those truths that we were taught at the knee of our Heavenly Father previous to our mortal experience, as well as the courage we possessed as we stood strong for truth and righteousness. With Christ as our Savior, advocate, example, and redeemer, we can’t fail, as long as we are “boldly” striving to follow him. He will not let us down, he will carry us where it is too difficult to walk, but we have to choose for him to help us, he won’t break the great gift of agency. As we come to the throne of his grace, we must allow the scepter of righteousness take hold of our hearts, and then Satan will have no power over us.
Hebrews 1: 8 But unto the Son he saith, thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom. 9 Thou has loved righteousness and hated iniquity.
I love the analogy of houses in the Hebrews. “For every house is builder by some man; but he that built all things is God…..Christ as a son over his own house; WHOSE HOUSE ARE WE, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.” (Hebrews 3:8-9) WHOSE HOUSE ARE WE? We get to choose. I think of these houses as “wills”. Whose will are we allowing to dictate our lives? There are really only two forces here are earth, God and Satan, we are either following the one or we are following the other. We are either residing in God’s house, or we are residing in Satan’s. May seem harsh, but think of it, we are either doing the will of the Father, or we are not. If we are not, then we are satisfying Satan’s will, which is to keep us out of Christ’s home, and our will away from the Father’s. We have to decide, and we have to decide with BOLDNESS. The decision is getting tougher and tougher, as the deception is becoming more shrewd. Our vision must be clear, “today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts.” (Hebrew 4:7) The Lord has invited us to Labor with him. This is a team effort that brings unity, as we work together to help every one of our fellowmen to Christ. “Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” (Hebrews 4:11)
Hebrews 2:11 For both he that sancitfieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
As we put our “trust in Him”, we will see that we have every weapon we need to win this earthly, spiritual battle, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Couple this with the weapon of prayer, “Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;” These two will be our “anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entirety into that within the veil” An anchor holds a ship firmly in place during even the roughest storms. (Hebrews 2:13, 4:12, 5:7, 6:19)
Hebrews 3:14 For we are partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end;”
As we BOLDLY come to Christ, lets do all in our power to bring everyone with us, for are we “not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation.” The veil has hidden our pre-mortal relationships, but if we will just assume, that all those with whom we come in contact on earth were once our best friends in the pre-mortal world, we will be able to have the energy and excitement to be the light for them, to help them come boldly to Christ. As we do the Lord’s will, and labor diligently along side him, we will be able to tap into the power of “miracles, and the gifts of the Holy Ghost according to His will.” Through this power we can help lead others to the Lord’s place of “rest”, as well as ourselves, because he is the “author of eternal salvation unto all who obey Him.” This perfect plan is for everyone, “if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance”, so that they can feel the redeeming power of the Savior, and feel His love fully in their lives. Is there any greater gift that we can give to our Heavenly Father and our eldest brother, Jesus Christ, but to help bring others to joy? When we return home, we will be able to feel peace, because we loved as we were loved, BOLDLY, fully and unconditionally. (Hebrews 1:14, 2:4, 4:9, 5:9)
