2 Corinthians 12:9
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
I simply love this picture combined with this scripture. As I look at this picture, I can feel the Savior’s love for me and it makes His grace so much more real and tangible. We all have weaknesses and the thought that His strength is made PERFECT in weakness is absolutely amazing and mind boggling.
But what weaknesses is Paul referring to here. Interestingly, he mentions weakness and infirmity almost as if they were interchangeable. Here is the definition of infirmity according to the New Oxford Dictionary: “physical or mental weakness.”
What infirmity or weakness are you struggling with?
Would you like to have Christ’s strength and power to rest upon you?
If so, Paul has the right attitude or formula, we should glory in our infirmities!! We should show forth our gratitude to God for our infirmities and all His goodness in our lives. And as we do these things, and endure well, we can bask in the knowledge that the strength and power of Christ may rest upon us.
