“How many tellings does it take?” It is a saying that is used in a kindly way, sometimes wistfully. Most of us shouldn’t be surprised if some of life’s hardest lessons require repetition. We recognize that we have taken the course before, and here we go again! It is a function of the long-suffering and the mercy of the Lord—until we get it right. -Neal A. Maxwell
This was music to my ears. As a mother, I am patient, and willing to repeat myself as many times as necessary to help my kids understand and figure it out. Especially when they are sincerely trying. Why wouldn’t our Heavenly Father be the exact same. Nothing about the plan of salvation has been designed for us to fail. The Lord has divinely set up every rescue plan possible, including patience and the try-try-again theory. The Lord NEVER gives up on us, we must never give up on ourselves. If we keep a good attitude and a sincere desire to follow Him, we will succeed one stumble at a time.
“One of God’s greatest gifts to us is the joy of trying again, for no failure ever need be final.” -Thomas S. Monson
