We choose what we want in life! That is the gift our Heavenly Father has given us, the gift to choose whatever we want. The options don’t seem so black and white as good and evil, but we’ve been given prophets, the scriptures and the Holy Spirit to help guide us in the right direction with each choice.
“There is one thing the power of God and the power of Satan have in common. Neither can influence us unless we allow them to.” – Sheri L. Dew
God Wants a Powerful People – Sheri L. Dew
When in doubt, focus on the things you know and the feelings you feel! Does the Book of Mormon bring Peace into your life? Does your relationship with your Saviour frustrate you? Or bring you joy? And do the doubts or questions you are having bring clarity? Or blur truths in order to confuse? The things of the Saviour will uplift and inspire, the things of Satan will tear down and frustrate!
“It’s true, isn’t it? Then what else matters?” – Gordon B. Hinckley … quoted by Neil L. Andersen
It’s True, Isn’t It? – Neil L. Andersen
When we love and serve others, we begin to love others as Jesus does; without conditions or requirements and just for the sake of it. Yet, that love will have us move mountains for the benefit of others.
“Love is unselfishly choosing for another’s highest good.” – CS Lewis
Ignorance may be bliss, but when it comes to the effort required to know our Heavenly Father, the risks are too great. We simply cannot afford to not know Him. Focus your efforts on Him and the background noise will not seem as important as it once did.
“If you are not sure you even believe in God, start there. Understand that in the absence of experiences with God, one can doubt the existence of God. So, put yourself in a position to begin having experiences with Him. Humble yourself. Pray to have eyes to see God’s hand in your life and in the world around you. Ask Him to tell you if He is really there-if He knows you. Ask Him how He feels about you. And then listen.” – Russell M. Nelson
“Come, Follow Me” – Russell M. Nelson
The fun part of the Gospel is change. No one wants to change, but if we want to improve, change we must.
“‘Come as you are.’ A loving Father says to each of us, but He adds, ‘don’t plan to stay as you are.'” – Jeffrey R. Holland
Songs Sung and Unsung – Jeffrey R. Holland
We are allowed to be disappointed and frustrated, but take those frustrations to the Lord and be willing to move on from them. He will bless you in ways you cannot imagine and as you move forward, you will see that your disappointments were really blessings all along!
“Please don’t get discouraged, or even if you get discouraged, don’t stay there for too long.” – Carlos A. Godoy

Lawrence E. Corbridge shared what to do when you are doubting an aspect of the church. He said to recognize if that question is a primary question or a secondary question. The primary questions were.
1. Is there a God who is our Father?
2. Is Jesus Christ the Son of God, the Savior of the world?
3. Was Joseph Smith a prophet?
4. Is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints the kingdom of God on the earth?
Hold to these questions and answers and concern yourself less with secondary questions, as they will be resolved by the primary answers.

Every day, do something that grows your faith. Push yourself to be better and come closer to your Saviour! Read your scriptures, say your prayers, take your vitamins, get some rest and go to work because faith without works, is dead!
“Day after day on your path toward your eternal destiny, increase your faith! Proclaim your faith! Let your faith show!” – Russell M. Nelson
Let Your Faith Show – Russell M. Nelson
First and foremost, fan the flames of your own faith. Ensure you are doing the things that invite the Spirit and are exercising your spiritual muscles, then go to work, and with the help of the Spirit, you can truly help others!
“You won’t be of much help to others if your own faith is not securely in place.” – Neil L. Andersen
Joseph Smith – Neil L. Andersen
Regardless of what you are struggling with, you need to remember that you are not alone in this life, not by a long shot. There are people all around you who love and support you in various ways. But more importantly, we have a loving Heavenly Father and our Saviour Jesus Christ who are cheering us on. More than that though, Jesus Christ actually suffered for us so we didn’t have to struggle alone. We can place our burdens at the feet of our Saviour and He will help us through it.
“I realize again and again I cannot overcome this on my own! And I realize again and again, I do not have to.” – J.B. Haws
Wrestling with Comparisons – J.B. Haws
It doesn’t matter. Any excuse you can come up with for judging another, it just doesn’t matter. Our Heavenly Parents love each of us the same and want each of us to succeed just the same. They want us to grow and help each other. That isn’t to say it will be easy to not misjudge or reject another, but loving another is far more important than anything else we could do for another. It is what Jesus Christ does for us.
“Never reject or misjudge them. Just love them!” – Ulisses Soares
How Can I Understand? – Ulisses Soares
“A poor, wayfaring Man of grief Hath often crossed me on my way, Who sued so humbly for relief That I could never answer nay. I had not pow’r to ask his name, Whereto he went, or whence he came; Yet there was something in his eye That won my love; I knew not why.” – A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief
“There are no earthly medals for service and discipleship. Most of what we do in the service to others will never be recognized or honored except by God, who sees it all.” – Patrick Kearon
