At any point, we can decide to come unto Him. The earlier the better. The more effort we put in and the longer that effort is put in, the greater opportunity we have to fill the oil in our figurative lamps and when the bridegroom comes, we will know Him.

As a family we just read the difference between faith and knowledge in Alma 32. We cannot have knowledge without exercising faith. That exercising of faith may include trusting 100% upon God, not knowing why he won’t share more information. But we can trust that we will learn and grow and become better by trusting in Him. When the sunlight comes, grow towards it!

There is a marvelous work and wonder happening in the world! The restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is spreading! The people doing the work are not perfect and need help! All can do a little more and all will be made better for their efforts.

We are allowed to have questions, but we should bear in mind the principles of the Gospel. Faith in Jesus Christ is more important than the majority of the questions we will ever have. Even if we cannot get answers to those questions in this life, they pale in comparison to the importance of how we feel about Jesus Christ and what we are doing about it!

We cannot look at the wonders that Heavenly Father has created and the miracles that Jesus Christ has wrought, without being overwhelmed with gratitude in the realization that this world and the plan of salvation were created and brought to pass for us. What an opportunity and what an astounding amount of love must’ve went into that work, so we could live and learn.

No one can slide into Heaven on the backs of the faith of others. We must do the work necessary to gain a testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel and to have faith in Jesus Christ. There is no amount of work that makes the price of gaining a testimony too great. As Gordon B. Hinckley has asked, “It’s true, isn’t it? What else matters?”
