He is not here: He is risen

Matthew 28:5-6
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

This scripture is now my daughter, Kembri’s, favorite scripture. For Come, Follow Me today my wife made some assignments and Kembri’s assignment was the events that happened on Sunday and so she studied and studied. She would ask us to clarify a few things, but she was really enjoying learning about the resurrection. She admitted to us that the scriptures are hard for her to understand, but today they came alive for her. Specifically, she loves the words, “He is not here: for he is risen.” She just went on and on about how cool that was. It sure made my wife and I very proud.

I, too, love those words–it means everything for us. He truly overcame all things including death. He is mighty to save. If we will but have faith in Him, repent, and obey His commandments we will one day be raised to immortality and enjoy the life He now lives, even eternal life.
