The Divine Nature

2 Peter 1:3-4

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

What a powerful scripture. I simply love this. Is there really anything else more important than becoming like our Savior and obtaining the divine nature. We need to flee from lust in all its evil varieties, thus being able to escape its corruption and partake of the divine nature. Really let this message sink deep and then rise up and go to work, trusting in the enabling power of the atonement of Jesus Christ.
