This is one of, if not the shortest verse in all holy writ, and yet it’s power is great. Let’s look at the story.
John 11:32-36
32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
35 Jesus wept.
36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
John 11:32-36

35 Jesus wept.
36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
I can only imagine this great scene of the Lord of all the universe crying for his friend. I want to be loved like that; I want to the friend of Jesus.
John 15:14-15
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
John 15:14-15
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
To be the friends of Jesus, we must obey Him and then He will reveal unto us things of the Father.
Let us start today to be more obedient to the words of Christ both written and whispered to us by His spirit.

I made this picture as I imagined the Savior weeping for those who chose not to obey Him. How great is His sadness.
Doctrine and Covenants 42:45
Thou shalt live together in love, insomuch that thou shalt weep for the loss of them that die, and more especially for those that have not hope of a glorious resurrection.
