Yesterday in our morning devotional, the concept of fear preventing us from seeing God or coming into his presence was discussed. The scriptures below are very instructive and powerful. I would put our doubts and disbelief into this same category.
Doctrine and Covenants 67:3
Ye endeavored to believe that ye should receive the blessing which was offered unto you; but behold, verily I say unto you there were fears in your hearts, and verily this is the reason that ye did not receive.

Doctrine and Covenants 67:10
And again, verily I say unto you that it is your privilege, and a promise I give unto you that have been ordained unto this ministry, that inasmuch as you strip yourselves from jealousies and fears, and humble yourselves before me, for ye are not sufficiently humble, the veil shall be rent and you shall see me and know that I am–not with the carnal neither natural mind, but with the spiritual.

Interestingly enough, in our team training this morning this phrase was mentioned, What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?

This really rang true for me as I pondered the concept of fear or doubt standing in our way from beholding our Savior. I decided to make a second quote, with a spiritual spin on the same words.

I love this, because seriously the only factor that should stand in our way from being in the presence of Christ, should be the Lord’s timing, not our fears and doubts. We should act with such obedience and perfect faith, just like Moses did, or the brother of Jared, or all those who enjoyed His presence while in the flesh.

Let’s get working on replacing our fears and doubts with great faith and perfect belief!!!
