A man came into my work with his dog, as we talked I found out he was an author. We talked about writing and he explained that he was actually a detective for 37 years. The reason he started writing was because he realized he had nothing to leave his kids. Years and years of solving problems and mysteries and they were all boxed up and forgotten. He said, “Nothing has less value than solved problems”

I couldn’t stop thinking about that. NOTHING HAS LESS VALUE THAN SOLVED PROBLEMS. All the time and investment it takes to solve these cases and yet, once they are solved it’s over. Boxed up and forgotten. No one ever thinks about them again.

How true is this principle with our own lives. Our Savior, Jesus Christ came to earth, set the perfect example, took on all the concerns And sins of the world, died for us, and rose again…so that we too could return  to our Heavenly home, and dwell with our eternal family forever. He knew that we would not be able to do it alone. He was In Heaven during the war, he personally knows Satan and knows how manipulative and sly he is. He knows he has no limits or reserve. Lucifer wants all of God’s children and will stop at nothing to get them.  With this knowledge, Christ offered himself as our only way home. With that he has agreed that if we will but follow him, do our best, repent, and continue along the path…that our “problems” that Satan and mortality heap upon us will be boxed up and forgotten. Once repented of …they have NO VALUE.  THEY ARE REMEMBERED NO MORE!!

President Boyd K. Packer stated: “Our spirits are damaged when we make mistakes and commit sins. But unlike the case of our mortal bodies, when the repentance process is complete, no scars remain because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The promise is: ‘Behold, he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord, remember them no more’ [Doctrine and Covenants 58:42].”

The Atonement leaves no tracks, no traces. What it fixes is fixed. … The Atonement leaves no traces, no tracks. It just heals, and what it heals stays healed. -Boyd K. Packer

No matter how long we have been off the path or how far away we have wandered, the moment we decide to change, God helps us return. From God’s perspective, through sincere repentance and pressing forward with a steadfastness in Christ, once back on the path, it will be as if we were never off. -(Choose You This Day, By Elder Dale G. Renlund, Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles)
