I have the most fantastic news!!!

THERE ARE WONDERFUL STRONG COURAGEOUS GOD FEARING, NEIGHBOR LOVING, CHARITY FILLED, SERVICE FOCUSED, FAMILY ORIENTED, CHRIST CENTERED PEOPLE IN EVERY FAITH!!!

I am amazed that wars are fought over differences in faiths. I am amazed at the contention within cities and neighborhoods in relation to differences in faiths. As I have attended church with my husband over the years…I have had the opportunity to meet, serve with, and become great friends with member of a large variety of denominations. I honestly want to say to the whole world, FEAR NOT!!…THE LORD IS BUILDING THE MOST INCREDIBLE ARMY! I promise, the walls that the adversary builds in our hearts, will crumble when the Lord needs us to fight together! When push comes to shove, good from all denominations will stand as ONE! We will lift together, build together!  Why wait for disasters. Let’s come together as one now!

The nightly news is filled with terrible, stomach wrenching stories everyday. When watched it leaves one feeling hopeless and fearful! However, I testify, that Satan will lose! He may think he is winning…he is not!! The Lord’s army is strong and faithful! We don’t have to be the largest, we just have to have the Lord on our side, and stand together. For goodness is flourishing!
I challenge everyone to let go of the misconceptions you have acquired over the years about other faiths. I challenge you to be friends with your neighbors, invite them over, learn about their faith. Teach them the truths about our faith, so they can know as well. I always tell my kids, if you want to know about a Catholic, ask a Catholic! We have 13 articles of faith and one of them states that we believe in the right for everyone to believe as they will. “We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty god according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.” 11th article of faith.

There’s an article on Lds.org (here) that talks about this very thing…and I love it so much!
This has been on my heart for years and years. I just want to stand on the mountain tops and shout to the whole world…FEAR NOT WE ARE MANY!! I want to have a magic wand and demolish the fake walls that the adversary has built between faiths. I want to have a social gathering and invite everyone on earth who has the desire to do good, so we can all be friends, so that we can understand, respect, and love one another for who we are and what we believe. So we can know we are on the same team. We wear the same jersey!
I recently talked to a pastor who is known for talking ill of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was a fantastic discussion. Before going in, I was praying to know what to say, and I opened my scriptures to…1 Corinthians13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

We can argue about doctrine and who has more truth all day long, but the bottom line is, the Lord commands us to love one another. He says you can have all these things, but if you don’t have charity, you have nothing. None of it matters if we don’t have love. You know why? I believe it’s because truth is from God. And contentions is of the adversary. They can’t dwell at the same time. We lose God’s truth when we allow the adversary to come into our hearts, conversations, and lives. In order to maintain God’s truth we must abide by God’s laws…and that is love! We must love! All!

At the conclusion of our meeting, I simply told him that we STAND WITH THEM! And asked him if they as a church could prayerfully reconsider that view that they have of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and see us for who we are.
That’s exactly what we should all do, if we are harboring any “walls” against other faiths, we should prayerfully ask the the Lord to help us understand them, and to help us respect them.
The article I mentioned earlier, written by Samuel B. Hislop writes gives a couple great quotes…
Lesslie Newbigin, “Seek out and welcome all the reflections of (the) one true light in the lives of those we meet!”

Elder D. Todd Christofferson’s comment that truth is scattered liberally across the globe.”

Elder Orson F. Whitney said, “God is using more than one people for the accomplishment of his great and marvelous work. the Latter-day Saints cannot do it all. It is too vast, too arduous, for any one people”

“We can learn truth from all our life experiences and from a variety of people we meet!”

So let’s STAND TOGETHER…and FIGHT FOR TRUTH AND RIGHTEOUSNESS!!
