Hi, I am apart of your everyday life, but only if you let me. I make you weak, I make you tremble at the sight of me, and shudder at the sound of me. I can control your mind, your thoughts, and your actions. I live in the lives of many and am an expert at destroying the pure in heart. Though you may not want me, I am a constant threat. The only way to dispose of me is through faith. I do not thrive in the midst of Heavenly Father; for where he is present, I can not be found.
Hi, my name is fear.
“Wo be unto them that shall pervert the ways of the Lord after this manner, for they shall
perish except they repent. Behold, I speak with boldness, having authority from God; and I fear not what man can do; for perfect love casteth out all fear.” ~Moroni 8:16
Fear pushes us to do and think things we never thought possible. It disables us to complete everyday tasks and cripples us to fulfill our divine potential. Many could say fear controls their life. This may be you. Are you living in a world where fear overrules your ability to function? Are you searching for the key, for the magical answer to rid yourself of fear? You have found it. It’s cheesy, it’s simple. but it’s effective.
Fear cannot take hold of you if you are living a life of faith. Just as Lucifer cannot prevail in the presence of the Savior; fear cannot exist where there is faultless faith.
The other way is true as well. If/when you have complete faith in what your Savior is capable of, at this moment you will feel the physical, mental, and emotional lift of your fear drift away.
The God who created the Grizzly bear’s bite strong enough to crush a bowling ball, the White-tailed Deer fast enough to sprint at speeds up to 30 miles per hour, and mankind who has the resources to recreate human life, is on your side. He is capable of tasks much larger than your fears.
Whatever your fears might be, I firmly believe, through sincere prayer, asking Heavenly Father to lift the burdens that are holding you back from living a life of faith, he will gladly assist you. God has already carried the burdens that have led you to fear your own shadow. You no longer have to choose fear, because your God chose faith for you when he laid his body on Calvary’s cross and said: “It is finished.” He finished it for you, now it is your chance to say “Yes God, I accept the sacrifice you made for me.”
No matter how you feel; whether you feel lost, lonely, burdened, dirty, helpless, sorrowful, or hurt, you can always choose faith. You can always conquer fear.
