I love General Conference! I look forward to it every October and April!
This year I decided I wanted to do some things  differently so I searched the internet for some fun ideas for creating memorable family traditions for General Conference.
I’m going to start by sharing some of my memories and then share some of my favorite ideas I found on my search.
Growing up my favorite memory was going to the chapel with my dad. He would say, “ who wants to go to the church with me?” And any of the kids who wanted to get dressed in their Sunday best and go with him was welcome to go. I loved going with him!  There is nothing like watching conference in the chapel. There in the quiet darkness you can really focus and feel the Spirit. There is usually only a handful of people in there since most people watch it at home so you feel like it’s just you at the feet of Prophets and Apostles. My favorite memories of General Conference are almost all in the chapel. That is where I have had some of my most profound inspirations and testimony growing experiences. So you can imagine how hard it was for me when we moved to this area and they don’t open the church building for conference. So I’m on a mission to find other ways to create memorable family traditions.

Join me as we discover some fun new ideas.
The Red Headed Hostess has a whole list of wonderful ideas.  I was excited about many of these. It really is a great list.

Tips From a Typical Mom had some great ideas.
Over The Big Moon was another great resource. She had free Printables as well as game ideas.
And of course we can’t forget LDS living and their ideas.
One of the easiest ways to make meaningful memories is with food.

My husbands family has made food the center of their traditions which I absolutely love. Let’s be honest, everybody loves food. My mother-in-law makes a great big breakfast and then they have cheese and crackers in between sessions. It is something his family always looks forward to and since we no longer live by them I hope to carry on this tradition.

I hope you all have a wonderful time creating memorable experiences with General Conference this year!!!!!
