Is there ever really a bad Jeffrey R. Holland talk? Has he ever spoken and anyone walked away and said, “Meh, I’ve heard better!” The man is so inspired. He has a way of putting things that cut through all the questioning or doubt. One of my favourites is this talk on trying to improve on our faith. When I review the talk, two thoughts pop into my head, the first is from Brigham Young, who suggested we all pray for the patience to wait until we know for ourselves, and then D. Todd Christoffersen’s most recent talk, where he shared a story of a man’s family who pressured him to leave the church and he came to the conclusion that he had felt the Spirit and that his testimony was real. We need to remember those experiences to help us through our time of trial.
