Wow, this is an amazing article on the sacrament. The sacrament is so much more than we may realize. Dallin H. Oaks focuses this talk on, “the first of these solemn “witnesses” to God the Eternal Father: that we are willing to take upon us the name of his Son. What does this mean?” He goes on to explain it’s obvious meanings as well as it’s more hidden or mature meanings. Here is just one quote:

“Willingness to take upon us the name of Jesus Christ can therefore be understood as willingness to take upon us the authority of Jesus Christ. According to this meaning, by partaking of the sacrament we witness our willingness to participate in the sacred ordinances of the temple and to receive the highest blessings available through the name and by the authority of the Savior when he chooses to confer them upon us.”

“The highest blessings available through the name and by the authority of the Savior when he chooses to confer them upon us.” Isn’t that nothing less than having your calling and election made sure, therefore guaranteeing us Eternal life, which is His greatest gift? For that is the highest blessing available through His authority and the only one that He personally confers upon us.

Read the entire article, it is absolutely amazing.
