Ezra Taft Benson said, “I add my voice to these wise and inspired brethren and say to you that one of the most important things you can do as priesthood leaders is to immerse yourselves in the scriptures. Search them diligently. Feast upon the words of Christ. Learn the doctrine. Master the principles that are found therein. There are few other efforts that will bring greater dividends to your calling. There are few ways to gain greater inspiration as you serve.” [“The Power of the Word,” Ensign (May 1986), pp. 79-82]
The Scriptures, and specifically the Book Mormon, truly contain, not just the answers and solutions for our lives, but an actual power that flows from its pages, that we desperately need in our daily lives. I have personally felt this power in my life as I have feasted from it’s pages. Let us all recommit and rededicate ourselves to a greater immersion and feasting on the good word of God found in the scriptures.
