📜 “Whosoever … shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 18:4 🌟
What does it mean to humble ourselves as a little child? 🤔
In this profound teaching from the Savior, Jesus Christ invites us to emulate the pure, trusting, and teachable nature of children. Little children naturally embody qualities that make them fit for the kingdom of heaven: humility, faith, and an openness to learn.
To humble ourselves as a child means to:
🌱 Trust in God completely – Like a child trusts their parents, we are invited to place our faith in our Heavenly Father, knowing He loves us and will guide us.
🌱 Be teachable – A child is eager to learn and grow. When we humble ourselves, we acknowledge that we don’t have all the answers and seek divine guidance through prayer, scripture study, and the Holy Ghost.
🌱 Show pure love – Children love unconditionally and forgive easily. Christ asks us to love and forgive others with that same purity of heart.
🌱 Let go of pride – Humility means surrendering our ego and aligning our will with God’s. It’s recognizing that all we have and all we are comes from Him.
President Gordon B. Hinckley once said, “The virtues and attributes of a little child are an expression of the divinity within each of us.” ❤️
As we strive to develop these Christlike attributes, we draw closer to the Savior and become more fit for His kingdom. Let us walk in humility, faith, and love, remembering that greatness in God’s eyes is measured by the purity of our hearts.
